Just buy a knife that meets your needs. Clearly you have too much time on your hands and time is money. Anyway thanks for the laugh.

Some of us do this for fun. Don't be such a stick in the mud. But since you already seem to be a bit of a douchebag, where can you find a pukko style folder like he just made?

Very cool! Might have to do something similar with a Mora Flex blade. Although after twenty- something years of sharpening knives, I've come to realise I hate Scandi grinds. They're perfectly fine in the bush or the workshop, but for everyday use I'd much rather a standard hollow/v grind. Easier to maintain, less meat behind the shoulders.

Hunting, harvest, cooking, craft. These are the cornerstones upon which all of the super-powered modern applications of personal cutlery, up to and including combat, are built. You've made something that can comfortably address 99% of the tasks that are best-suited for a knife. And for that last 1% (God forbid), it's a perfectly valid weapon. And all of that aside, it's a beautiful piece as well.

Cobalt drill bits with a plasticine ring around the area to hold cutting fluid - much easier than faffing about with a blowtorch & risking the blade temper.

From the amount of them he says he's broken, I'd wager he uses his Opinel for a bunch of stuff you'd usually only ever use a fixed blade for. He said the tip broke off some of them, so I'm guessing he used them as a pry bar. Which is a bad idea even with a fixed blade. In fairness though it's a $15 knife so he's definitely not the only one to abuse them and treat them as disposable.
